nortel, Bug6334 When using PCMCIA

Howdy,

I posted a while back asking about using PCMCIA cards to backup my Option
11.

When I inserted my 32MB ATA flash memory card in the PCMCIA slot on my
option 11 I received the following message.

"Bug6334 Could not initialize pcmcia ata driver."

I know the NNTP tells me:

"Action: Try a manual INI. If the problem reoccurs, do a cold start. If the
problem persists, contact your technical support group."

I figure it has to be how I formatted it. I FAT formatted it with my
Windows 2000 laptop. Should I find the Nortel PCMCIA formatting tool to do
this with? If so would anyone be so kind as to send it to me? I have tried
to download it from the Nortel site but they said I had to have an existing
service contract. I guess I'll have to get in touch with Ma Bell. I know
we have an existing service contract with them.

There should be 2 PCMCIA slots on the CP,...did u try with the A:
Slot???


I believe INI would help because sometimes the Backplane doesnt plug
in to the slot properly thereby not recognizing that there is a drive
inserted.However wud suggest inserting it multiple times to verify
whether the PCMCIA has been put in properly.


I do not think there could be an issue in the format...However be
careful not to plug it in too hard because that could disturb your CP
card

if you formatted it with w2k you messed it up. The option 11 will never
recognize it. It should have already been formatted when you got it, so just
use that one for your camera and buy another one.

There is a program from Nortel for you to format your PCMCIA, If I don't
remember wrongly, it call CardPro version 9.
Just you the program to format your pcmcia card and created a folder
named ARCH_DB. It should be able to archive your database.
