solidworks >> naming convention of part files for assembly files

In SolidWorks, I have an assembly file bb.sldasm
with part files
bb1.sldprt
bb2.sldprt

when I save the assembly file as STL format,
two files are saved:
bb1-1.stl
bb2-1.stl

What the postfix "-1" means? In what circumstances will numbers other
than 1 appear?

(At first I guess postfix other than 1 would occur when part files with
the same file name but in different directories are included in the
assembly file. But it seems that SolidWorks does not allow me to do so.
It shows error.)

Thanks for advice!~

If for instance bb1.sldprt was a toy car and you have four (4) wheel/tire
combo parts and you save the bb.sldasm then you will have a bb1-1.stl,
bb1-2.stl, bb1-3.stl and bb1-4.stl.

Sorry this is clearer (more Clear?)

If for instance toycar.sldasm was a toy car and you have four (4) wheel/tire
combo parts called bb1.sldprt and you save the toycar.sldasm then you will
have a bb1-1.stl,
bb1-2.stl, bb1-3.stl and bb1-4.stl.

bb1-1 means that it is the first instance of bb1. It is the same for
bb2-1. Put another bb1 in the assembly and see what happens.

I just experienced this behavior this morning. It was repeatable. Has anyone

5. Comment file name in .f file list?

6. AUTOMATIC PART DESCRIPTION TRANSFER TO DRAWING FILE NAME

How can I get the description that I type when I file a part solid
model (this also appears in the part custom properties table under
Description) to appear in the drawing model description field (right
under the part number field) when I file the drawing model for the
first time?

This value is already available; it is currently used to automatically
fill in the title block, so I know it can be transferred from solid to
drawing.

Part numbers automatically transfer from the part solid model to the
drawing model when I create the part drawing, so I know that
information from the part solid model can be used to fill in the box
when saving a drawing away.

Any ideas?

7. File name of a new file before saving

8. Break reference to assembly from part file?

Have a part with several features defined in an assembly. (I'll call
this A1)

Somewhere along the way I added this part to a second assembly -
decided I didn't want to do anything in this assembly, and deleted it.

Now, everytime I open the first assembly (A1) I get a dialog asking me
to find this deleted assembly(A2).

If I view references from the part file, nothing from this missing
assembly(A2) shows up. If I view refernces in SolidWorks Explorer, it
IS there. How can I delete this reference? Can't seem to find a way to
do this from SWExplorer.
