Help Please,

Is there a way to change all the units of an assy to IPS (inch pound second)
without having to go to each part individually? I have a assy with 1000 line
items on the bom and some are modeled in metric units some in inch I need to
get the weights of each component but they report in the bom as grams for
the metric lbs for inch.

I made my drawing in metric units but want to save them in imperial
units in my DXF file.
Can this be done?

Do you mean something other than changing the document's units to imperial
before doing the SaveAs? To do that automatically, you'd need a macro.

ik denk dat het verstandiger is om je vraag in het engels te stellen ,
paupere vent die je d'r bent.
anders wordt het zo'n soepzooi.

4. Changing Default Units

I am looking for a way to change globally, the working units and
drawing limits within AutoCAD 2007. 99% of my drawings are in
millimeters and I set the limits to 1500x1500. Seems like there should
be a way to change the default settings of inches and 12x9?? Any help
would be greatly appreciated..

6. Drawing Units vs Part Units

Myself being a newbie converted from ProE I don't understand the principle
behind having to set up units in part/assemblies and then once again in the
drawings. I have always created models in the past using ProE with all my
unit/tolerance/precision values enbedded in the part.

I've done the same with a simple Solidworks part and now time to create the
drawing. I imported the dimensions into the drawing and all my hard work of
setting up the design unit intent in the part seem to be gone. It looks like
I now have to go and recreate all my unit needs. This means making some
units fractional, 2 pls or 3 pls decimal and some with or without tolerance.

Is there a setting I'm missing in my drawing document properties that import
the dimensions as modeled in the part/assembly without the need to duplicate
work efforts?

8. changing saveDir and projectDir as library changes

Hi,

I'm having problems figuring out how to do the following:

Instead of just using fixed defaults for saveDir and projectDir (such
as ./artist_states and ./simulation respectively - and I don't care
how these were set - either by .cdsenv entry or use of envSetVal) , I
would like to have projectDir and saveDir follow the library of the
schematic being simulated.

In other words, if I opened MyLib->MyCell->schematic and then invoked
Analog Artist, I would like the projectDir to already be defaulted to
./simulation/MyLib and I would like the saveDir to already be
defaulted to ./simulation/MyLib/artist_states. Similarly, if I then
opened YourLib->YourCell->schematic and invoked Analog Artist or just
chose YourLib->YourCell->schematic from the Setup - Design form , I
would want these two values to automatically be changed to
./simulation/YourLib and ./simulation/YourLib/artist_states
respectively.

I've thought about adding skill to run after a trigger event, but I am
not sure which trigger is appropriate. Also, I haven't found a
foolproof method of grabbing the library name which works under all
the different ways to switch what will be simulated. Additionally, it
would be awesome if whatever solution would also work for Ocean as
well.

Any and all help/ideas would be great. Thanks.
