Anyone managed to solve the problem (some of us are getting) with tir3 not
working in FSX retail?
What's the secret?
1. Slightly OT: TrackIR3 & Racing Sims
(Although this is a Flight Sim Newsgroup, I'm making an assumption that some of you also using racing sims. I posted these questions in rec.autos.simulators, but didn't get many responses, so I hope to get some more here. I know that the TrackIR3 is pretty popular with Flight Sims....) Here's my repost: "Is anyone here using the NaturalPoint TrackIR (www.trackir.com)with Racing Sims? It seems to be geared more for flight sims (which I'm not into as much as racing sims), but has direct support for a few racing sims as well, like GTR and LFS. It also reportedly has indirect support for GPL through the GPLShift utility. I'm curious about how worthwhile this thing is for racing sims, how easy it is to install and use, whether it requires it's own power (other than what's supplied through USB), and whether it supports other racing sims either directly or indirectly." For those of you also into racing sims, I'd appreciate any input regarding how well it works with them. For those who've used it strictly just for flight sims, perhaps you could comment on the questions in the last paragraph (regarding installation/set-up, etc)? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

5. FSX
I have FSX+Accel. I am having a very hard time controlling helicopters in the game. Planes are no problem. Whenever I am in full power the Bell Jet Ranger in this case pitches up and I start moving in reverse. If go to medium or low power I can fly somewhat level, but I will fall out of the sky. Is there a fix for this. Mu joystick is a MS Sidewinder Pro and I calibrated it at least a dozen times. TIA

7. Upgrading from 2004 to FSX Deluxe
Hi all I'm something of a newbie so I hope this question isn't too badly received. I've been playing with FS2004 and very pleased with it. I run it on an XP P4-3GHz machine with 1Gb RAM and 256Mb of Dualhead graphics. Works very well. The odd crash out to the desktop but all in all I'm happy. I now want to upgrade to FSX Deluxe and have a Vista machine to put it on. I know about the one license per machine "feature" but I need to know if the machine I have in mind is powerful enough. It's running Vista with 2Gb RAM and the CPU is Intel Quad Core 750. As yet, it's running off an onboard graphics controller - because I've not bought a proper PCI-E card yet. I'm happy to buy a good card (can't fit the old one from the XP box as it's AGP), but I want the Vista machine to run FSX Deluxe as well as the XP machine runs FS2004. Is this possible with the hardware I've described bearing in mind it's now Vista? Can someone give me a link to a realistic set of requirements to run FSX Deluxe on a Vista machine? Cheers Sun
