client >> FP not asking for username-password

by Lenn » Wed, 18 Aug 2004 21:42:38 GMT

Hello,
I use FP 2000 and now when I open my site to edit it
doesn't ask for my username and password, just opens the
page for editing. However, the page doesn't have the
shared borders, and it won't save.
Can someone / anyone shed some light on this? I've
rebooted my monster twice, no luck.
Thanks,
Lenn

I am having the same problem - not asking for my user name
or password. This started Aug 14.

1. FP 2002 - Repeatedly asking for username and password

Hi! I recently got a new laptop as well as a new desktop and I cannot
publish on either computer. I have set the firewalls to permit full access
to FP and it just repeatedly asks for my username and password. I still have
the old desktop and can publish fine on their. Any ideas?

5. Form Asking for Username/Password

I have entry form that uses the extensions. It works for everybody
except a couple of people. When these people try to save their entry
they're asked for a username and password. Unfortunately one of them
is a key person to this endeavor.

Has anybody else run into this? If so, what causes it and how can I

7. Asks for username and password for form entry calling shtml.dll

When I post my order form, it is asking for a username and password
when calling shtml.dll

Anyone have some suggestions for this? I need some detailed
information for why this may or may not be happening - and the general
"did you check your permissions" answer is not the answer - no amount
of permissions changes or settings, even setting the permissions to
allow total and open access for everything, has worked. I have been
going nuts trying to figure out what is the real problem with this
with no success so far...

mydomain.com is not the real domain name

----------------------------------------------------

Starting URL: https://www.mydomain.com/order.htm

When form entry is tried, I get:

Enter username and password for "" at https://www.mydomain.com

----------------------------------------------------

When I fail to enter the username and password, it brings me to:

Ending URL: https://www.mydomain.com/_vti_bin/shtml.dll/order.htm
