1. No wireless network tab under wireless network connections
I have recently upgraded internet exploer 7 and now my wireless does not appear to be working When I go to network properties for wireless connection there is now no wireless network tab just one saying authentication. Does anyone know if there is a hotfix for this from Microsoft or if I need to reset something on my PC? The wireless network tab appears in the bottom right hand side with a cross next to it but it is not seeing any wireless networks. When I go to the wireless zero configuration in services this is running ok. Any ideas??? I would be most grateful! Many thanks Tony -- Tony Collins

5. Desktop Wireless network connection "bounces" when laptops join wireless network
I have a desktop (WinXP) with a 802.11b Belkin wireless card connecting to a linksys wireless b router in my house. I have 3 roommates with laptop and desktop computers that connect to the network fine every time. My desktop, connects perfectly with solid, strong signal for as long as the 2 laptops with integrated wireless nic cards are not on. Whenever either of these two (fairly new, 3-5 months old) laptops joins the wireless network, my connection bounces around like a super ball. My connection status on the desktop goes from high to low to medium back to low. I would say most the time it is LOW though. I can still surf a few pages but it is so slow, it is just not worth it, but some packets do get through in both directions. This is the part I don't understand. It almost seems as though these laptops are somehow "interfering" with my desktops wireless card. I am a techie and have tried the obvious troubleshooting steps such as changing IP addresses, updating drivers, using DHCP (I prefer to have a static IP address, but changing to DHCP doesn't change the problem). One more thing, there are two other computers that have no problems ever on the network (1 desktop, and 1 older (5 yrs) notebook with a PCMCIA Wireless G card). Any ideas or suggestions on what I can try would be appreciated. Or even some search terms I can try and google to find others who might have had similar issues with the wireless lan. Thanks, Aaron
