Does anyone know of any cheap alternatives to ADmitMac that can log
into a Windows 2000 Active Directory from OS X 10.3?
I need something that will check the current password and mount my home
drive, but as I am on a limited budget, I can not afford expensive
programs like ADmitMac.
Thanks in advance.

In article <42133792$ XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,
Mac OS X 10.3 introduced the Active Directory Plug-in. Have a look at
this page for using it and dsconfigad for configuring what you're
looking for.
Hope this helps! bill

Thanks for the info.
I also found a free program called 'MSAD Login' which seems pretty much what
I want.

In article < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,
I've never heard of this one and can't locate it in Google or
Versiontracker. Care to share a link? I'd love to try it out.
Thanx! bill

Greetings,
When installing and setting up the ADC, what happens if
an account already exists in the AD with the same name as
an account on the Exchange 5.5 server that the ADC will
try to bring over?
Thanks,

We are getting the following error intermittently on our

Source: MSADC
Category: LDAP Operations

LDAP Bind was unsuccessful on directory COMPUTERNAME for

There seems to be no rhyme or reason when we get these

Does anyone know the cause?

8. Active directory connector replication between 2 domains
Hi all.
I am having a problem with ADC replication between my Ex 5.5 directory and AD.
Firstly a bit about my system. I have an NT domain in which my Ex 5.5
organisation exists on 1 Ex 5.5 server. I also have and AD domain in which I
have the ADC running and one Exchange server 2003 installed.
Whilst existing objects are replicated between the 2 directories, and email
is being passed between the 2 servers for existing accounts.
When I create a new account on the exchange 5.5 server, this is not
replicated to the AD and when I create a new account in the AD, this also is
not replicated back to the 5.5 directory. When looking throught he logs, I do
not see any problems with ADC replication except for the fact that the 5.5
server objects will not be replicated back to the 5.5 server from the AD.
Can anyone here help?
