1. setting up FTP server in Mac OS X (not Server)
I've got an old Mac here, a Yikes! G4, that has OS X on it and I'd like
to use it as a home server. Ive managed to get everything set up
appropriately except FTP access - specifically, I want to enable it so
that a friend can ftp in and work within one (and only one) directory. I
don't want "anonymous access - I want a restricted user.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a decent tutorial for doing this,
much to my own surprise. I realize that I could use a thrs-party package
like CrushFTP but I'd prefer to use OSX's built-in service, ifpossible.
My main hurdle is that they don't provide the GUI tools to configure it
(apart from "turning on FTP Access" which just opens up the entire
machine).
Could somebody please explain how to create a user to e used for remote
FTP access, ho do configure my system so that when that user FTPs to my
machine that they get dropped into a partoicular directory and don't
have the capability to navigae out of it?

3. Mac network problem connecting to win2k SAN server
Hello,
We are having problems with Mac's connecting to certain server on our
network.
We have a SAN and we have set up and install MAC share services, was working
fine, for some reason it stopped working good, what happens if we go on the
Mac to Chooser choose that server and what it does it says Contacting
server, and it takes forever, if I hit cancel it takes me to authentication
and it works fine. Is there any win2k tweaks or registry settings that we
could try fixing?
MAC os X works fine, so we know there is a problem with most likely with
appletalk, and we have other servers on the network mac's can connect to
those normaly with no problem.
Thank you very much for any replies,
Eimis

5. Cannot connect to Win2k TS/Citrix Server from Mac OS X
When one of our Mac users tries to connect to our Windows 2000 Server TS via
the MS RDC, he cannot establish a connection. In the logs on our server, I
see:
The terminal server cannot issue a client license.
We had this issue with another Mac machine, and we were able to delete the
Microsoft licensing folder on the Mac and it worked again. Our Windows
users, using Remote Desktop, don't have any problems. However, when they
use the Citrix ICA client, every 90 days are so they have to delete the
MSLicensing registry key.
We do have Citrix licenses available but I'm wondering if there is a problem
with our TS Licensing; On the server, there is no applet to view Terminal
Server Licensing. I tried using the LSVIEW tool but it never finds a TS.
Thanks for any help

7. How to make Win2k FTP the default FTP application

You could modify the system path so that the system32 folder comes before
the folder containing the vendor product. The easiest approach is to
locate the vendor's ftp.exe and rename it to something like VendFTP.exe.
That will allow you to run the Win2K version by default and still keep the
vendor version available in case you should want it someday.
