I am not sending a document and I don't want my recipients to have to open a
document. I want to send different emails to different people based on query
results from a database. This app needs to run on an unattended machine at
scheduled intervals.

Thanks

The only way I won't be tied to Exchange is to switch jobs. Portability is
not a concern, Microsoft platforms are not likely to change for EMAIL here.

If I were you, I would use SMTP - it is easier, less bug prone, and highly
portable - it does not tie you down to Exchange...

I use MAPI to talk to Outlook using the SMTP: transport specifier, and
send mail successfully (on a regular basis, to recipients and SMS
gateways) without invoking any dialogs.

Tom,

That's not MAPI that you are using if the message you refer to is being
displayed.

More likely you are using SimpleMAPI or CDO.

2. Sending Email through Exchange

Hello,

I have tried several code sample to send internal emails using the
System.Web.Mail but all the mail was delivered to the 'Bad Mail'
folder. I'm running 'Microsoft Exchange Server 2003'. If anybody could
tell me what I'm I doing wrong or guide me to other techniques or
articles?

Please note that no exceptions or Errors were generated during or after
sending the emails. The code used is taken as-is from from
microsoft.com with some configuration.

4. Email code sample

Could someone please point me to, or post, a sample piece of code that
would read an Inbox as follows:

1. Open the local copy of Outlook 2002 or 2003 if it's not open already,
and use it if it's already opened.

2. Receive (F9) to get any new messages into Inbox. (Send doesn't
matter, doesn't hurt.)

3. Take each new message in inbox and write out the text of the message
plus save any attachments to stand-alone disk files. (We're trying to
have everything sent to one email account "converted" into disk files in
a shared directory.)

4. In Outlook, delete each message after it's processed or move it to
another folder inside Outlook so that the next pass wouldn't hit the
same files again.

TIA for any help.
