Does anyone know how to export a report to plain text?
I know it's not an option, but any viable workaround that 
saves me from having to open the *&%# thing in Word and 
converting it is preferrable.

Hi all,
     I'm using Crystal Reports 10 Dev., SQL Server 2K , and VB6 (latest SPs'
installed).  SQL Server has a text field which is imported into a Crystal
Report for the body of the report.  Problem is some of the text fields are
saved in plain text and others are saved in rich text format.  Since CR 10
handles both in the paragraph formating options would there be a way to
setup a formula to designate which format CR uses depending on the data
coming into the report.

I've posted a few times about saving Word docs because I use Word's text
search tool to find text strings in a batch of 12,000-plus docs.  What was
driving my postings was having some of my text searches come up short
because Word did not recognize some of the characters, because the docs were
plain text rather than Word and didn't have Word's formatting.

Now I'm wondering if I wasn't looking at this backwards.  Maybe I should be
looking at using something other than Word for text searches - something
that can find a text string in a plain text doc, like one created using
FreeFile.  Can VB do that?  Or will this put me into very deep waters
without my floaties?
