VB Crystal Report >> How to size a .NET CR accurately?

by teddysnips » Tue, 19 Apr 2005 15:53:23 GMT

My application has to generate a Quality Control document and, as
anyone who has ever had any dealings with QC matters will know, such
documents Must Conform To The Accepted Parameters.

The output is a single record, so no need for sections. But the report
is to consist of multiple boxes containing various fields, and the size
of the boxes (in millimetres) is specified.

Is there any way (short of repeatedly printing out the report and
rejigging) that I can set the size of the box in millimetres. For
example, the box in the top LH corner must be 62mm wide x 12mm high.
Its values on the report designer are:

TOP: 120
BOTTOM: 840
LEFT: 120
RIGHT: 3270

Any help much appreciated.

VB Crystal Report >> How to size a .NET CR accurately?

Which version of CR? In my 10.0 the box size is shown in cm to 3dp. (So
6.200 x 1.200)
According to the help page, these units are controlled by 'your operating
system settings' but I'm not sure which operating system settings these
are...

1. Hard Drive size to CR-ROM size

I have an application that exports images from a EDMS to a directory structure and produces an access database of image index info.

My question is how can I determine from the sum of the file sizes, how much space it will take to store them to a CD?

Both the Images and the Access dB must fit. If not, I will need to split the files over multiple CD's.

Any ideas?

3. CR.Net and CR NOT .NET

I am confused about current versions of CR.

Would someone explain the relationship/difference between CR.NET and CR9.
Is one a subset of the other?
Can CR9 be used instead of CR.NET or vice-versa?
Are there going to be two product lines in the future? (for .net and not
.net developments)

5. CR 9 and CR.NET version conflict on same PC

Hi newsgroup,

There is a known version conflict if you use Crystal Reports 9 and Crystal.NET on the
same PC. A GPF occurs in CR 9 when you try to open the Table Link Editor in the
Report Designer.

With the installation of CR.NET, one or two DLLs of CR 9 are overwritten by
non-compatible versions of CR.NET.

Can anybody remember this problem and perhaps tell me the names of those DLLs
and where they have to be copied to?

A few months ago, I had repaired my PC accordingly and everything worked fine,
but now this nasty GPF has returned and I can't find neither the article in
support.businessobjects.com, which I found then, nor an appropriate article on the internet.

Thanks in advance
Regards,
Frank
