Microsoft Office Publisher >> Pasting from clipboard, Pub2000 & WinXP

by B » Wed, 01 Oct 2003 05:22:02 GMT

I'm using Publisher 2000 with WindowsXP for the first
time, and am suddenly not able to paste anything from the
clipboard (Word or any other program). Publisher will
allow pasting of objects that were copied within the
current Pub document, but nothing from the clipboard.
Does Pub2K not share the Office XP clipboard? I've
always been able to copy from other programs (Word,
CorelDraw) and paste into Publisher with no problems on
Win98SE and Win2K. Thanks for any help.

I would suggest you ask on the WindowsXP newsgroup.
I have not heard of this issue.

Solved it -- installed the Office2000 SR1 and SR3
updates, and that fixed the problem. No idea why, but
hey, I'm copying & pasting up a storm.

2. Paste Clipboard Issue

I, too, like Tom C.'s recent post, am having an issue with the paste in my
Publisher documents, although my issue is presenting itself a bit differently.

I am an office manager in a church. Our computers are networked, and all
the files I work on are saved to the server. I am using Windows XP and MS
Office 2000 for Small Business. About a year ago I was given a new computer
and had to transfer my files from my old drive to my new. I used the same
version of Office on my old computer. When I started using Publisher on the
new computer I found that I couldn't copy from one Publisher document and
paste into a different Publisher document. I am able to copy from email and
Word documents into Publisher, and can copy/paste from one Word document to
another. I have searched FAQs and Publisher Help with no luck in finding a
solution. Many of the documents I create are done on the previous week's
document (the Sunday bulletin for the church service) rather than from a
template. Might this have anything to do with it? This has perplexed and
frustrated me for too long!

Thanks for your help.

4. Clipboard pasting

I copy something to the clipboard using Publisher 2007 and the computer tells
me it is in the clipboard; however, when I go to paste that information into
another document, Publisher acts like it is not there. I then need to close
the document I wish to paste it into, reopen it, and then, like magic, there
is the information in the clipboard and I am able to paste it. UGH!!!!!!

6. The publisher could not be verified - WinXP

Hi,
Recently a ToGo application triggered a windows security dialog.
The message is: The publisher could not be verified. Are your sure you
want to run this software?
It also displays the name of the exe file.

I've tried adding the exe file name into the Firewall exceptions but it
doesn't seem to make any difference.

The program can be run by simply pressing the Run button, but is a
nuisance.
Can anyone help?

8. Text after non-breaking space truncated: Publisher 2003 WinXP

Hello All,

Watch out folks!

If you are using non-breaking spaces in your Pub docs and edit your story in
Work (Edit-->Edit Story in Word), beware that the character after the
non-breaking space is truncated. Also, when you close the Word edit window
and return to Pub the characters are truncated in the original Pub doc.

Kinda scary.

If some one has time, can you test it and see if you get the same behavior.

Thanks in advance
