Microsoft Office Publisher >> Unable to Collate.

by Thomas » Tue, 23 Sep 2003 06:06:56 GMT

Hi

I'm having a HP6110 printer and HP Laser-Jet6L printer.

I cannot use the colloate optionin Publisher however I
can use in all other office applications. I have updated
the printer drivers and still I'm not able to do this.

I'm desperately trying for this.

Please help.

Next time buy a decent quality printer.

If you buy HP junk you must expect problems.

Contact HP about your problems - but don't waste your time or money as HP
are not interested in you.

HP have your money, you have a lemon, and they will not fix or update the
drivers.

After managing to set up OE-QuoteFix on his new PC, Ed reads a message
from Thomas < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >...

This is due to the way that Publisher handles multiple copies. I suggest
that you try and get your printer driver to handle the multiple copies,
rather than setting them in Publisher.

Ed, sorry, it is poor support from HP.

Kyocera handles Publisher files perrrrrrfectly in duplex, collate, multiple
copies etc. etc.
Japanese quality and attention to detail.

I think it's more to do with where you set the options.
But I'm not going to argue.

1. Merge & collate multipage doc

In Publisher 2002 I can't merge a multipage doc to
collated/stapled output. Print merge seems to treat all
resulting docs as one continuous doc. We just wanted to
merge our staff newsletter to save the time of labelling
each copy individually - how hard can it be? (Guess it's
just too tricky for poor old Pub 2002.) Can anyone advise

3. Collated printing

Checking the collate option seems to have no effect when I print to an hp
business inkjet (same for cp1160 and 1100dtn). It works fine from Word.

Spoke with hp - application problem. Spoke with ms - driver problem.

So, ignoring whose fault it is, has anyone found a driver or other
workaround to get this functionality without losing too many features? I
just want to get this usable - collating is a big deal when there are lots
of copies.

Thanks, guys.
