Microsoft Office Publisher, building a resume

1. Writing a resume I'm not sure what I write in objectives

I'm new to the whole resume writing thing and in the program it asks me to 
write in my objective I actually have no idea what that means! Is it the job 
I'm applying for or what I hope to bring to a job or a cover letter? some one 
must be able to help :)

I am using the microsoft publisher and i am looking for the elegant resume 
template.

It is a template that already has a resume typed up and u insert your own 
info, is anyone familiar with what i am talking about?

5. what is the "objective" part in a resume?

i am writing my first resume and in the templates it says "Objective" and 
asks for "your text here."  The problem is that I have no clue what I am 
supposed to write as an objective.  Is it the position I want?  Or a goal?
