Microsoft Office Publisher >> WATCH OUT--Change you email address to avoid MASS spamming from newsgroup

by Joan Apt » Sat, 04 Oct 2003 01:38:17 GMT

I posted a message the other day and unfortunately used my real email
address, without adding NOSPAM to the address and I have since gotten
about 12 or more of the SWEN worm emails, the supposed Microsoft
Security patch worm. Thankfully I have Norton AntiVirus which detects it.

Now I know to WATCH OUT. Be careful!
Joan

Hi,

You may be interested to know that your correct
address still shows in your message header.

The "reply-to" address has "NOSPAM" in it.
The "from" address does not.

Thanks. Hopefully this will help. Too late to undo the damage already
done but at least I learned something new and important-about newsgroups.

If you have only gotten 12, you are extremely lucky. I get between 40 and
100 per day!

It does look like the virus is starting to slow down. In the past few days
I've been getting less than 150 per day compared to the thousands when the
virus first hit. I also received a different hoax email concerning virus
protection and antivirus software, but in this case it was using a fake Zone
Labs page instead of MS. The attachment was 14k.

I just created a 2 year calendar in Pub 2007 that uses 1 month per page.
I do not like the size of the table on the 1st page (month) so i resized it

apply the same adjustments to the remaining 23 month tables all at once?
