If we knew what version of Windows and Publisher you were using it would be
a great leap forward for mankind.

Hi gregg ( XXXX@XXXXX.COM ),
in the Microsoftnewsgroups
you posted:

|| Need to convert a 28-page booklet from Lotus Word Pro 97
|| into a Publisher 2000 format. Don't think I can do it
|| directly but both programs indicate they can
|| convert/import with Word 2000. Imported the Lotus file
|| into Word reasonably well, kinda rough but cleaned it up.
|| However, when I try to convert the Word file to Publisher,
|| a message box says Publisher is converting but status bar
|| remains at 0% showing an ultra fast flickering. System
|| Resources indicate CPU usage at 100% during this time.
|| Ultimately I cancel the process as nothing seems to be
|| happening. Suggestions?

Save your Word file as an *.rtf file and then import into Publisher. As an
FYI, Publisher 2000 and older will NOT import any objects or graphics from
your Word Document, which might be holding up your import. Also be sure that
you are not running Norton Antivirus.
