Microsoft Office Publisher >> photo prints pixel-like

by Lucie Amundsen » Tue, 07 Oct 2003 02:54:49 GMT

Hi and thank you in advance,

The photo, which was doctored a bit, looks great on screen
and prints very pixel -like. The other photos that did
not get tweaked in a graphics program prints fine.

Any thoughts,

Indebtedly,
Lucie

After managing to set up OE-QuoteFix on his new PC, Ed reads a message
from Lucie Amundsen < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >...

a) What does the photo look like if you zoom right in (to 400%) on it?
b) What file format is the photo in?
c) How big is the picture file?
d) What version of Publisher are you using?
e) What version of Windows are you using?
f) Have you updated your printer driver from the website of the printer
manufacturer?

You have probably saved the file in a web format either 72dpi or 96dpi

You enlarged the photo by dragging the handles which will also cause it to
be pixelated.

Screen resolution is only 96dpi that is why things often look great on
screen but don't print to expectations.
