Sorry, I'm new to project...I'm trying to inlclude the bolded task summary that I can view in the gantt chart, when in the calendar view. For some reason when I go to "options" while in the calendar view and try to select "show summary tasks" in the outline options section, it's not a highlighted box I can check. I can alter that box in the gantt view, though. Any hints?
I'm trying to add/alter a task's custom field value for field "Text5" from a SQL. Here is my test code: DECLARE @TaskUID uniqueidentifier DECLARE @ProjUID uniqueidentifier SELECT @TaskUID = TASK_UID, @ProjUID = PROJ_UID FROM MSP_TASKS WHERE Task_ID = 2060; DECLARE @PropUID UniqueIdentifier DECLARE @PropID int DECLARE @PropType tinyint SELECT @PropUID = MD_PROP_UID, @PropID = MD_PROP_ID, @PropType = MD_PROP_TYPE_ENUM FROM MSP_PROJECT_CUSTOM_FIELDS WHERE MD_PROP_NAME = 'Text5'; SELECT @TaskUID, @ProjUID, @PropUID, @PropID, @PropType DECLARE @FieldUID uniqueidentifier SET @FieldUID = newid(); INSERT INTO MSP_TASK_CUSTOM_FIELD_VALUES (CUSTOM_FIELD_UID, PROJ_UID, TASK_UID, MD_PROP_UID, MD_PROP_ID, FIELD_TYPE_ENUM, TEXT_VALUE, CREATED_REV_COUNTER, MOD_REV_COUNTER) VALUES (@FieldUID, @ProjUID, @TaskUID, @PropUID, @PropID, @PropType, 'Testing123',1,1) SELECT * FROM MSP_TASK_CUSTOM_FIELD_VALUES WHERE TASK_UID = @TaskUID and PROJ_UID = @ProjUID; UPDATE MSP_PROJECTS SET PROJ_EXT_EDITED=1 When I execute this code, the database is properly updated but when I open the project in MS Project Task 2060 doesn't have the updated field value. Can anyone see what I'm missing. NOTE: the same problem occurs if I try to change an existing custom property. Ie: replace the insert with: UPDATE MSP_TASK_CUSTOM_FIELD_VALUES SET TEXT_VALUE = 'Testing123' WHERE PROJ_UID = @ProjUID AND TASK_UID = @TaskUID AND MD_PROP_UID = @PropUID AND MD_PROP_ID = @PropID; The database is updated correctly, but MS Project doesn't show the change. It does however, prompt me to save the "changes" when I attempt to unload the project.
Hello, I'm trying to use show both tasks and sub-tasks in the calendar view. It seems like it only wants to show the sub-tasks but not the high-level one's. Basically I'm trying to display the same information found in the Gantt Chart but in a more traditional calendar view. Is this possible? Thanks, Dan
