wireless >> HP 5500 Wi-Fi setting once detected (My ISP or My Home)

by Vincent » Thu, 02 Oct 2003 06:28:39 GMT

When I'm on campus it will detect the wireless service.
Then it will ask me if it should connect to ISP or My
Home. Does anyone know which one I should choose and why?
Thanks.

Is there any application that can be added that will let you see the
progress or attempts at progress to access any wi-fi hot spots?

Currently there is no way one can see what is going on in the background as
the IPAQ 5500 wi-fi tries to find a hot spot...

3. Wi-fi browsing using "my ISP"

At last I have been able to successfully iPAQ 5550 wi-fi browse
through my access point then gateway router to cable modem.

Everywhere I have beeen reading that I would need to use the "My
Work" setting but i have it working with the My ISP setting.

Can anyone explain why I appear to be different? All others have
reported that in setting My ISP the ppc asks to set up a modem

Hello,

I have not used my iPAQ for a month, it was switched off,
I've tried turning it on and there was no response, I
plugged the power and still no response, I then plugged it
into the cradle and still no response, what could be wrong?

7. SSID set up for 5500

Aloha to you,

I need to set up ssid for my 5500 for t mobile (so that I can surf at T
mobile hotspots), how do I go about doing this? I don't see anywhere where I
can change the ssid (or perhaps, and probably closer to the truth), I don't
have the foggiest idea of what is going on.

Also, don't know if this means anything. When I go to iPAQ wireless and turn
on the WLAN, the icon turns orange, but there is no light in the upper left
hand corner of the unit. I have tried soft reseting, but it didn't help. So,
is my WLAN on or not with this conflicting signal, and would that have a
negative impact on my trying to set up my SSID for T-Mobile?

Or do I have to do the dreaded hard reset?

TIA
