6. Unable to access windows update with Netgear wireless router
I recently replaced my D-Link wired router with a new Netgear Wireless
router.
My computer is wired to the router with it's ethernet connection. I no
longer can access windows update. The browser opens, but just freezes.
I can access other sites, however some seem to be slower in opening up.
I removed the wireless router and ran my cable connection directly to the
computer's ethernet port. I was able to access windows update with no
problem.
I looked through the router's settings, and did not see anything that really
stuck out at me that possible could be causing this.
I would appreciate any ideas to look for..
Thanks,
Don Burnette

8. Lost all contact with Netgear WG602 wireless access point
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me...
I set up a simple network with wired and wireless components a couple
of weeks ago. It worked fine, but for no reason I can fathom it has
completely stopped working. Nothing has been moved or changed, as far
as I know. This is the setup:
Netgear wireless WG602 access point, cabled to...
Linksys 5 port hub (EFAH05W), cabled to...
Windows XP PC, with a Netgear PCI ethernet card
Plus a Windows 2000 laptop fitted with a Netgear MA401 wireless PCMCIA
card.
The Windows XP PC is set up to use Internet connection sharing, so it
should allocate IP addresses. It's mask is set to 255.255.255.0.
The LEDs on the hub and WAP all indicate everything's OK, as does
Windows.
However, I cannot access the WAP, either through its default IP of
198.162.0.227 or its name, and the Laptop indicates no wireless
network whatever.
I have use the WAP's reset button, but to no avail.
Any help will be gratefully received!
Cheers, Julian
