wireless >> Dell Axim - WM2003 - Symbol Wireless Issue

by Darryn Warner » Wed, 24 Sep 2003 18:37:07 GMT

I am having difficulty getting a symbol Wireless Networker CF card working
with a Dell Axim X400 Running Windows Mobile 2003 (Latest Pocket PC O/S)

The card works fine in my old ipaq 3870 running Pocket PC 2002, but in the
Axim, I just get a Green bar at the top and when I click it, it says
Spectrum24 Reset Completed.

I have downloaded the latest drivers from
http://www.symbol.com/services/downloads/dl_spec24_mobcompanion.html

But am coming up with no further ideas

Any thoughts ?
Darryn

These drivers don't support PPC2003.

You should download the drivers from Socket (www.socketcom.com ) for WM2003,
since they support the Symbol card as well.

1. Wifi Issues with WM2003 Dell Axim x50v HELP PSE

Dear Group,

I have big issues getting my Dell Axim x50v (WM2003SE) connected to my
wireless network.

I have a number of other wireless stations within range, and when I turn on
wifi, the unit offers up at least six other stations (as well as mine), one
of which appears to be connecting staright away (its a BThomehub) I think
this is one of the wifi hotspots provided by BT, but I dont want to connect
to this, I want to connect to my own network. I have been plying around
with this for quite a long time.

Today I decided to remove all the security from my network (temporarily) to
see if it would connect without encryption. It still failed to connect
and went to the BTHomeHub instead.

My question is:

Is there a way to wipe out all the existing profiles, so I can start a new
and try to get this working again? I am fast giving up on ideas, and dont
know what to try next.

I have also just tried a recommended utility called Wi-Fi Companion v2.9
from Socket Communication, but this appears to do nothing apart from provide
an interface to the actual settings in WM2003SE.

It might be worth mentioning that Odyssey Client has been removed from this
pocket PC as I was advised it wasn't needed a few years ago.

Incidently, the unit worked fine until all these extra wifi points have
appeared over the last few years.

Can anyone help me please?

Hi,

I saw an article on how you can upgrade your Dell Axim from Pocket PC

Could someone tell me how to do this?

7. Dell Axim 50v internet issue

I have a Dell Axim 50v and I just upgraded to the latest ROM version. I'm
now having an issue with Internet Explorer. When I go to the www.msn.com
website, it kicks me out of Internet Explorer. If I go to any other site
everything works great. I've noticed that they have changed the look of
the website so I'm not sure if this is an issue with the upgrade or with the
site.

When I did the upgrade I did a hardreset. I haven't installed any
applications at all yet. Anybody having this problem? Any ideas on what to
do?

Thanks,
Jasper
