wireless >> Lets start a fun-club for all those trying to connect

On a lighter note:

At different times I have been able to use ActiveSync, load a web page
running on the desktop, load a page from the Internet but never all at the
same time and usually for each one not twice in a row even if settings are
not changed.

I have collected and tested a few methods from several postings to help in
my quest.

take off the battery
do a hard reset a few times
switch to "internet" setting
no no, switch to "work" setting!
set wins and dns in ppc to desktop wireless ip
no, no for ppc set wins to desktop lan ip and dns to desktop wireless ip
no, no for ppc set dns to desktop wireless ip and clear wins
no, no, for ppc clear both dns and wins
in the ppc run welcome in the windows directory (seems to be the most
effective of all since then connections may work for a while)
in run welcome in the windows directory again and again and again

I am continuing my search. I am also starting to test other methods, for
example ppc orientation, i.e. should it point to the north or to the west?
Or may I shall expariment with different temperatures and various degrees of
sorounding lighting.

However, once I have set it up I shall move on to aquire a novel expert's
certification, which should by then be a piece of cake.

I have had good luck if I turn my wireless off when connected via
ActiveSync. Having both seems to confuse it.

Another that I forgot and just worked a minute ago to use ActiveSync:

Create a user on the desktop with the same name as the ppc connection name

Have you ever tried connecting while standing on your head, waving with the
PPC in your right hand to your PC and singing "Praise the Lord"? Some divine
help may come in handy at some times.... ;-)

An update

Last night I managed use ActiveSync and browse local web
pages at the same time through wi-fi. After that I played
three games of Jawbraker and this morning I cannot do
either. So perhaps this may be a factor.

We ll have to investigate whether it is the use of the
Jawbreaker game or the number of times it was played.

I run welcome a couple of times to no avail.

This is real science.

Sounds like you just don't know what you're doing. I sync and surf
with the same settings on my iPaq 3950 with PPC 2003. No problems
since dumping PocketHosts and setting WINS and DNS to the actual WINS
and DNS server address, which is NOT the same as the machine that I
sync to.

I uninstalled a program, but every time I turn on my e805 I get a start up

How do I stop this from happening every time. I've looked in the start up
