wireless >> Bluetooth connection Pocket PC HP iPaq h2215

I am trying to get internet access on my iPaq h2215 via the built-in
bluetooth adapter using several different methods, all of which fail.
I either get a flat out error message like when I try to piggy back on
my dsl connection on my laptop which also has built-in Bluetooth
(error code: 0x81000196) or when I try to use ActiveSyc (which is one
of the other methods that I was told I could use to connect to the
internet) I actually do connect to the laptop, the ActiveSync on the
PDA turns green signifying that it has connected but then after about
5 seconds the icon loses it's green color and disconnects from the
laptop. Last but not least, I also own a Nokia 3650 phone. When I
first setup and configured the iPaq I was able to successfully connect
to my Nokia and use the phone as a wireless modem and connect to the
internet. Then when I came home and tried it again i was able to
connect to the phone but could not connect to the internet. Anyone
have any ideas?

Ami,

1. For connecting directly via LAN connection your OS in the notebook should
be Win2K or WinXP, and you should have ICS enabled on your ADSL connection
and pointing to your Bluetooth network as the home network. If you are using
Widcomm stack, at least until the last versions I know you cannot put your
bluetooth connection in any kind of bridge, or it will not work.

2. For Activesync, and again if you are using the Widcomm Stack, try to
change the COM port of the Serial Local Service to another port and change
ActiveSync's serial port accordingly. After that, re-discover the computer
from the Pocket PC. The problem you describe is usually due to port
conflicts.

3. Regarding the phone, sorry, no ideas... if you did it once you should
continue to succeed. Maybe re-discovering the phone could also help.

Is there any reason except for the Blutooth and connections not to buy the

Is anyone else experiencing this problem or have suggestions.

The iPAQ Pocket PC h2215/h2210 lacks a light sensor. As a result, two or
three times a day I must change the backlight brightness by going to
start/settings/backlight/brightness/ where adjust the sliding bars on the
brightness levels.

After installing TextMaker, the bars no longer slide. They are frozen in
the positions that they were in before I installed TextMaker.

The "on Battery" and "on power" switches are frozen and a reset does not
solve the problem.

I went to start/settings/backlight/battery power and
start/settings/backlight/external power and checked and unchecked the
switches. This does not restore my ability to adjust the brightness.
TextMaker does not interfere with these switches and when I check the boxes
to turn off backlight if device is not used for X, the device will turnoff
at the time that I have specified.
