wireless >> Connecting to network shared folders

When you are at work, the "cradle" is not considered a network device, so
you can not browse the network. This is normal. So it tries to find a
network connection. It is acting in this case the way it is design to. Sorry

Thanks for the response. That is not much of a problem
since browsing from the cradle is not that important. But
what about the other issue.

When I browse my home network with my wireless connection,
it will VPN to my work before allowing me to browse my
local home network. I assume there is just some setting I
am missing.

Thanks,

Robert

Robert,

Try clicking on the "double arrow" that shows the connection at top and
click on settings (on the balloon menu). This opens the Connections
settings. Open the Advanced Tab and select the Select Networks button. Try
changing the setting for the private network to My ISP. I think what is
happening is the wireless connection has been designated as connecting to
Work, not the internet.

1. Connecting PocketPC to Windows PC Disconnects Network Shared Folders

Running:
ActiveSync 4.1
Windows Mobile 5
Small Business Server 2003
Windows XP Professional
Office 2003 Professional

Through cradle/USB, connect PocketPC to Windows PC. It connects to PC and
syncrhronizes Notes. (Inbox, Contacts, Tasks, and Calendar are
syncrhronized wirelessly to Exchange Server.)

Then I get a message from the tray that Offline Files are no longer
available -- You are working offline on 'ServerName' and may continue
working normally...the status of the server shows as offline and unavailable
for reconnect. At the same time, I can no longer access any network shared
folders (because my Windows PC is operating "offline"). This is a major
problem. Everytime I put the PocketPC in the cradle and connect with
ActiveSync it seems like it causes my Windows PC to disconnect from the
network to some extent. Outlook still connects to the network and I can
still access the printer on the network. Just Shared Folders seem to get
disconnected.

Help please.

Thanks,

3. Seeing network shared folders from e740

Hi All,

I have an e740 set up to work with my wireless network at home. I can
browse the 'net and download emails to my hearts content, but, for
some reason, I am unable to see any of the shared folders on other
machines in the network (all running Win2000).

I'm probably missing something obvious, so could anyone give me an
idiot's guide to getting this working please?
