1. Can't sync even though i am connected using active sync ver3.7.1 with Ipaq4150
On my new Ipaq bought yesterday everything was fine including syncing
with USB and IR - even after I upgraded to Active sync 3.7.1 . I
tried to install several programs at the same time (Adobe reader etc)-
the programs did not get installed since it said that the pocket PC
should have been connected during installation which it wasn't.
However , now I can connect(and even explore the PocketPc from the PC)
but it just doesn't sync and the message on the Ipaq4150 just refers
to the last sync. I tried a) system restore in case of a problematic
other program b) the advice regarding regsvr32 dll's c) soft resets d)
removing network connection in options and several reboots of the PC.
Basically clicking on wcesmgr.exe doesn't result in anything. I'm also
worried about reinstalling Activesync after removing it since there
was a strong HP warning on the new hardware saying i may never be able
to sync if i connect with the PC prior to installation of active sync
(which i didn't do the first time and it worked fine - but how will
the subsequent removal and reinstallation be treated is unknown to
me). Please help as I have spent a bomb on the 4150 and already stuck
on day two of its ownership. Many thanks in advance.

3. VPN using wireless NIC
Is there a way to VPN to my office while connected to a
wireless network?
Here's the details:
I'm using a Dell Axim X5 with Pocket PC 2003.
I set up my work settings to use a vpn and two home
settings, 1 to use wireless and 1 to use a modem. As
long as the modem is plugged in I have the option of
using VPN, once I pull it out and put in my wireless card
I no longer have the VPN option. Even if I go to the
connections and tap and hold on the VPN and then tap
connect it doesn't work.

5. Wireless VPN ActiveSync Synchronization Guest Connection Problems on PPC 2003
I've been reading through all the applicable newsgroups
(microsoft.public.pocketpc, and the wireless and activesync sub-groups) and
have discovered that I'm not the only one to have problems synchronizing
wirelessly via VPN and ActiveSycn and only getting connected as a guest
(where when I sync via IR or USB it works fine).
From some troubleshooting steps, I've determined that (for me at least) it
seems to be the hosts file (whether this information is input directly into
the registry or via Pocket Hosts) that is causing the problem. I am able to
connect via VPN whether I'm on my internal firewalled router network or off
this network (I forwarded port 1723 to the computer I have set up to accept
VPN connections...which is different now than the computer I am attempting
to ActiveSync with).
When I'm within my network and establish a VPN connecton, and there is no
entries in Pocket Hosts, ActiveSync works fine (since I could normally ping
computers by name without a hosts file within my network).
When I'm outside my network and there are no entires in Pocket Hosts and I
establish a VPN connection, but there are no entries in Pocket Hosts, no
ActiveSync connection is made (I'm assuming since the Pocket PC can't see
the named computer)
When I'm inside or outside my network and there is an entry in Pocket Hosts
that links the private IP address of the ActiveSync machine to that
computer's name and I establish a VPN connection, ActiveSync only connects
as a guest.
This is driving me absolutely crazy and it would seem there is some flaws in
ActiveSync. Has anyone spoken to Microsoft about this? Anyone have any
other ideas that I may try to resolve this problem?
Also, for some odd reason, when I VPN in from outside my network, I can ping
all my internal network machines (and if there's a Pocket Hosts entry I can
even ping my ActiveSync machine by name), but can't connect to shares via
File Explorer (even though I should be able to). Any ideas about this??
Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
Marc

7. Wireless VPN draytek connection
I use a wireless connection from my DELL X5 to my access point. Works very
well, fast ping results.
But behind this access point stands a firewall with a VPN server (Draytek).
By this way nobody can access the network behind this firewall, even if they
get onto the wireless net.
But the Pocket 2003 standard VPN client can not connect to the VPN server.
On a wireless tablet PC you have to switch off the option 'Require data
encryption' to use the standard VPN client of Windows.
I think I have to set this one also of on the Pocket 2003. But where can I
find this option?
Or may be somebody has had the same problem and fixed it with another
setting.
Somebody has answers?
