wireless >> HP mobile printing utility & Toshiba 755

Anybody have any luck getting the HP mobile printing utility to work with
their Toshiba 755? Trying to connect and print to my Laserjet 5L (I know
it's an antique but it works great!) connected to my SMC Barricade router -
but I get "Unable to communicate with the printer. Please check your
network connection and settings" error. I can ping the router, sync
wirelessly, surf, send/retrieve email without any problems. I've tried
using the IP address of the router to ID the printer and used the network
path as well - no luck. Any other suggestions? Is the HP utility
proprietary to Ipaqs? Thanks.

No problems using it with my 755, a networked
LJ 2200, and a networked Epson Photo EX, BUT...

all my network printers are on network PC's (have no
use for the damn hardware routers and their total lack
of a large HD to spool print jobs to).

This sounds like a printer/router config problem, not
a problem with the HP printing software.

Hook the printer to one of your PC's and print to it
there.

What's the best way to get a serial port on my e-755. I see Socket has a CF
to serial port card. What about USB to serial? Which would be the most
"stable" route? I need the port for a OBDII scanner.

6. Landscape or PCL printing from HP Mobile Printing SDK

I'm using the HP Mobile Printing SDK to get my pocket pc application to print.

It works ok in portrait mode, but there doesn't seem to be anything in the
available classes (WinCEGDIHelper, mPrintControlWrapper, mPrintRenderWrapper,
mPrintWrapper) to let me print in landscape mode. Has anyone managed to do this?

Failing that is there a way to send PCL directly to the printer?

8. GPRS Q.. (h5555 & SWAC 755 (AT&T))

Well, I have my h5555 now with a Sierra Wireless 755 through AT&T... all
works wonderfully. The Aircard works on the laptop and iPAQ and I'm pretty
happy with it.

All is good, except that I live pretty far out away from the St. Louis metro
area.. about an hour outside St. Louis. I got within less than a 1/2 mile
from my house when my GPRS signal cuts out.. damn..

I have a Verizon cell phone because I know it's service works at my house
and at my kid's school. Cingular and AT&T voice coverage do not. Do you
think Verizon's data service would reach those same places my voice coverage
does? Are there any powered antennas/etc that may help since I'm on the
edge of coverage?
