1. monitor power saving mode does not work - Internet Explorer/IE
2. changing power mode of wireless adapter causes BSOD.
I have a Linksys WUSB54GC, latest drivers. In device manager, I can set it so that Windows never powers this device down. In the power options control panel, I've set everything to high performance. If I try to connect to a network (a DI-624 router) it will often BSOD and it will say POWER_DEVICE_DRIVER_FAILURE or some such thing. If I go back to device manager and set the adapter so that windows can power it off, then I no longer get this message. There is something seriously wrong with wireless networking in this OS. What else can I do?

4. Power Setting for 'sleep-like' mode
Hello, I'm not sure what the correct terminology is, whether it is a sleep mode, away mode or something else, but I'm trying to determine what power configuration I should be using on my desktop. I have a home based business & all of my business documents reside on my desktop computer which is running Vista. I have file sharing setup between the desktop & my laptop (which is running XP). The only issue is the files on my desktop are only accessable when it is on, if I push the 'moon' button on the keyboard to put it to sleep the desktop is no longer visible on the laptop. Is there some other power setting I can use in Vista that will still allow me to put the desktop in some sort of sleep-like mode but have the shared files accessible on the network? Previously I was running XP on a different desktop & was able to do this - I'm not sure if the computer actually went to sleep, but I could push the button on my keyboard & the monitor would turn off & the computer would go into a sleep like state but I think the hard drives remained on or something??? Any guidance would be appreciated.
6. Hyperlink To PPT needs to open in Power Point not IE Kiosk mode
Currently we have a few PPT files on our traing website. When our sales staff clicks on a link the PPT opens up inside an istance of IE that is running in Kiosk mode. I need to be able to have it so when they click on the link it opens the PPT file in Power Point. Any ideas?

8. Saving power while recording internet radio
I record an internet radio station all night (since that's when they broadcast the good stuff.) Since all I'm doing is running Screamer radio, it would be nice to save a little power when I go to bed. If I put the computer in Standby, what turns off, and will the computer continue recording all night? I have 2GB of memory, and the recordings I end up with run about 500MB by the time morning arrives. Thanks, Norm
