Pocket PC Networking >> WM5 Network Drive Share Not Working

by T3dhaXM » Fri, 25 Nov 2005 05:10:04 GMT

I was able to successfuly connect to my WiFi shared drives in Windows PPC
2003 OS on Toshiba e755. But on WM5 in Sprint PPC 6700, I am not able to
connect or see the shared network path. I am able to ping the PC using the
computer name or the IP address from the pocket PC. But when I do File
Explorer Menu->Open Path ->New Path ...
And the the shared computer name, I get an error. The internet access via
the router is working fine.

This should be a very common use. I am surprised why it is not working.

I had used NetUse and other programs to map network drives before on 2003
version. I suppose this
is still not possible in native WM5.

Any help and suggestion in resolving this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Owais

4. Can not connect to network share - Network resource cannot be found

I have a HP4100 running PPC2003.

I can connect to a network share on some stations but not on all, especially
Windows 2000 Server.
I already checked the permissions but they are OK.
The system even doesn't ask me for authentification, I just get the message
:
The network path was not found --> Network resource cannot be found or you
do not have the permission to access the network.

The Wlan works fine.

Thank's for helping,

7. Strange Map network drive does not work, internet works fine - Windows XP Network

8. Windows Server 2003 R2 file sharing not working on external usb drive

Problem:

Filesharing is working fine except for on the External USB Hard Drive
which is attached to the server.

Description:

The system has two logical hard drives. One Mirrored set for the C:
drive, and one External USB drive as the K: (backup) drive.

Folders shared on the C: drive work fine, however shared folders on
the K: drive aren't working and cause a result such as:

"\\localhost\K$ is not accessible. You might not have permission to
use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server
to find out if you have access permissions.

Not enough server storage is available to process this command."

The share \\localhost\C$ works fine and as expected.

There is 215 GB free on the C: drive and 47.2 GB free on the K:
drive. Permissions and security are similar if not the same for both
the Sharing and Security tabs on the C: and the K: drive. I can
access shared drives on the C: drive, and I can browse the K: drive
fine locally (and read and write to it).

There is an EventID 2011 in the System Event Log talking about
irpstacksize, however I've made the registry entry under \\HKLM
\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\paramaters\IRPStackSize

Creating a new DWORD value, and have presently set it to 50 (hex 32)
(The maximum according to one Microsoft KB article I read).

I have rebooted and still can't access the drive.

I have scanned the External Hard drive for errors, and I have
defragged it.

I'm looking for a solution to this problem,
