5. Problems connecting to the internet - Ipaq 4150 - Pocket PC
I am trying to connect my Ipaq 4150 to the internet through a bluetooth connection to my main system. My main system uses Windows 2000 Pro, my connection to the internet is via a cable modem connected to the network card on my motherboard, this uses dhcp to get it's i/p address. I have a second network card installed to link to my local network, this has a fixed i/p address of 192.168.0.1, I also have a Belkin USB Bluetooth dongle with a fixed i/p address of 192.168.0.3. I also have a Linux system connected to my local network with a fixed i/p address of 192.168.0.2. I have been able to partener the Ipaq and my system o/k, have set-up an activesync session ok, can transfer files between the systems o/k, and have set-up a network access connection, which says it is connected o/k. My problem is that i can not "see anything" on my main machine, or the other system on the network, and am unable to connect to the internet. ant thoughts. Graham

8. iPAQ 4150 Internet Y, ActiveSync N
I have an IPAQ 4150 (with WLAN & Bluetooth). I have the latest verison of ActiveSync. It is set for all the wireless connection options. The IPAQ very conveniently assisted in creating a wireless Internet connection, so I can browse the Internet and such. I haven't been able to figure out how to do a wireless sync...or actually access files on my desktop computer (which I assume is possible). I've tried to read through all sorts of past posts, but I am simply a little too technologically disadvantaged to figure out a few basic things. ActiveSync, for instance, wants to set up a VPN. I have a wireless network at home that I am using. It asks about a host name and IP. I guess the IP is the IP for the desktop computer. I have no idea whether to use IPSex/L2TP or PPTP (whatever that all means). It also asks about a User Name, Password, and Domain. I have no clue what to put there, since this is my own desktop computer. Any suggestions, and your patience, would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, especially to anyone willing to repeat themselves from past posts!! Sorry. If this ActiveSync connection is setup, will I be able to access files from shared folders on the desktop to? Brian
