Pocket PC Networking >> Webservice failure over GPRS

by UmljaGFyZCBTdGlkb2xwaA » Sun, 07 Aug 2005 05:03:01 GMT

In the UK using XDA2's on the O2 network using the standard username/password
when I request a webservice it works fine the first time and fails the
second with

Server found request content to be text/html but expected text/xml.

After finally contacting somebody within O2 they told me to try a different
username of "bypass".

That worked, however I am looking to role an Application out cover a
multiple of UK networks, Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile.

When tried using the standard GPRS username Password on the other networks
it fails. My applications are MS.Net all the way from MS Server 2003
providing the Web Service Data thru to the PPC2003 & PPC2003SE PDA's.

Is this something to with Web Service filtering, is there a workaround for
the PDA, the Web Services or is it something else ?

All help will be most gratefully received to a very frustrated developer !

4. PPP negotiation failure when connecting over GPRS

Hi,

I have a Slackware Linux 10.2 with pppd 2.4.3 and I'm trying to connect
using my Siemens C75 to o2 in the UK. I seem to get most of the way,
but get disconnected when asking for an IP address. If anyone is having
success with GPRS and o2 on a Siemens phone I'd appreciate knowing how
they did it.

Cheers,

8. router gateway failure/WMI failure/repository rebuild failure

Turn off computer and cable modem. Unplug the router (AC)
and wait 5+ minutes. Now plug in the router and hit
the "reset" button. Now turn on the cable modem and
computer. Using the linksys IP and password you should
now be able to connect. Now you will need to reconfigure
all the settings, but at least it should work. Also, make
sure your firmware is the latest version. You can
download from Linksys website.

Good luck...
