Those of you that use a Terminal Services/XP Pro Remote Desktop listening port other than the
default TCP Port 3389 for security reasons may be interested this thread from the PocketPC Passion
discussion forums.

Note that I have not personally tried this...As always, YMMV...

1. Terminal Services Client Port Address

Just to give our friendly crackers another minor challenge, we've
changed the default port for RDP sessions on all our servers. (VPN
tunnelling next on the list but changing the port was a quick and dirty
option I could do right away).

All working OK for desktops, but now I discover that the Client on my
PDA iPAQ 4150 witn WM2003 won't accept a port identifier on the IP
address line so there goes my mobile support option --AAARGH!

I understand from a bit of searching that there was a registry tweak for
PPC2002 but that it doesn't work with 2003.

Any ideas? Is there a third party client that works OK??

Thanks

3. Terminal Services Client - Ports Questsion

Hi -

Is there any way to change the default port when connecting to a terminal
server? for example, servername.com:1234, instead of just servername.com? I
would like to accomplish this without editing the registry on the device.
Does anyone know how to do this, or if there is a third party application
that will accomplish this for me? Many thanks in advance...

7. Using Terminal Services Client To Remote Access XP Via Bluetooth

Hi all,

I have a ppc 2003 pro device.

I wish to remote access my xp pro machine via the tsc
client. I have installed tsc onto my pda and enabled
remote access on the pc.

Connected via USB ACTIVESYNC and launched the program
from my pda and got remote access yipee!

But that isnt the problem.

What good is it using usb to remote access my pc while
sitting next to it? Nothing.

I wish to use bluetooth, so i linked up my pc with
bluetooth and have an activesync connection established
with internet pass-through. That all works.

I launch the program for tsc on my pda and get to the
login screen for xp pro. Type my username and password
and the screen goes black on the pda (it should
temporarily) and then just hangs.

On the other hand my xp pro desktop logs out as it should
and remains like that.

Personally i think xp is shutting of the bluetooth remote
connection via the tcp/ip. I don't know why it shuts of bluetooth but there doesnt seem a way to connect back onto it while my xp pro machine logs out

Is there anyway to stop xp from disabling bluetooth while
i want to remote access? Its a nusense. I really dont
want to use 3rd party software...

a) it costs money
b) its actually difficult to use that MS's TSC!

If there is any other software you know of to allow me to remote access via bluetooth then please also give me the name + any url links.

Please help!
