I keep getting this error on a send mail to a SMTP server. I am using Outlook
2003 and against a comcast SMTP server.
The ISP is no help. He switched me to port 587, which I also enabled on my
router.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,

More update,
When I use the email account setup, to test the settings, it works. The test
message is sent and received too.
But when I hit the Send/Receive button on the menu bar, it does not work.
What could be wrong?
I have checked for Office updates, I am current with those.
Searches in MS Knowledge-databases and Google comes out to be empty.
There is one hit that came close to giving me a patch - this was some
universit asking for log-in when selected.

Additionally, when I iuse the ISP's web-site to send emails, it works.

Any Outlook gurus out there, that can help?

This is exactly the same problem as I am having except I can't send or
receive. I have Outlook 2003 and Outlook Express on the same machine
with the same settings and OE works fine. The full error code is
0x8004210B. OE is fine, webmail is fine, pinging servers is fine. 3
e-mail accounts. 2 mail servers. None of them work in Outlook 2003!

3. Can't send files with attachments over 1mg error 1x0 8004210B

Have just purchased computer with Vista and Microsoft Office 07. After
setting up outlook correctly I still can't send messages with attachments
larger than 600kB. Instead the message will stay in my outbox and I receive
the error message 1x08004210B. Meanwhile the message is actually sent over
and over again!
Have done some tweaking with my service provider - but nothing worked!

every time I close OE I get a message inviting me to compact the files to

to stop the message popping up when i close OE. i'm anxious in case i or
