Outlook 2003
I have lost the little pop up desktop alert window that tells me I have new
mail.
It is checked in advanced options.
I have tried re-installing.
How can I get it back.

1. outlook needs desktop alert pop-ups for public folders
Our company uses shared folders (bulletin boards) within outlook to distribute messages to different groups. I frequently forget to check this location and would love to see a desktop alert pop-up feature, like we have for incoming email, so that I don't miss anything time sensitive. It would be great to have selection box that allowed the user to turn on or off the alert feature (and set unique preferences) for each shared folder/bulletin board

I'm using Outlook 2003 running XP Pro with service pak 2. I have all the appropriate boxes checked for the desktop alert, but I only get it when I click on the send/receive button. I thought if Outlook was running and you had it minimized, if email came in you would get the desktop alert to let you know. I get it and the envelope icon after I click on the send/receive button, not before. Anything I can do to change this? Thanks, RandyM
