installation >> Outlook on two Computers ???

by newtothis » Tue, 06 Jan 2004 12:48:39 GMT

Hello all,

I'm currently running Outlook 2002 (Office XP) on my Desktop in my home
office with XP Home as the OS. I'll soon be taking this desktop to a new
office and purchasing a laptop for home use. This new laptop will have XP
Home as the operating system as well and will likely have Outlook 2000
(unless I purchase another newer version of Outlook).

My question is:
Is it possible to have the same access to my Outlook folders (inbox, sent
items, contacts, calendar, etc...) on both my home laptop and my desktop
that'll be in my office?

I'll be working from my new office most of the time, but will still work
from home on occasion and will need access to my Outlook folders. What is
the best way (cheapest and easiest) for me to accomplish this?

Thank you in advance for any tips...

Copying the .pst file that contains the data back and forth is one method.
See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.htm for others.

I have Outlook 2007 on my PC desktop (Win XP) at home. I also have
Outlook 2003 on my Fujitsu notebook (Win XP), which I use when I am
travelling or moving around.
At home, my Desktop and notebook. are wirelessly linked via a 2Wire
Ethernet wireless router.

When I am outside, I key in my appointments, contacts, tasks, etc to the
notebook's Outlook. When I reached home, I like these data entries to be
transferred to my desktop's Outlook as well. Is there a way to configure
things so that I need to make only one entry on either the notebook's
Outlook or the desktop's Outlook, so that the same entry is automatically
send to the other machine's Outlook as well? I am a newbie.

 Thank you.

6. Sync Outlook with two computers

I need to sync all the stuff I have in Outlook on my desktop with Outlook on
my laptop.
Everything except the emails. That's not important.
Calendar, Contacts, Notes, etc. is mainly what I need the most.
I've tried but I can't do that.

How do I do that?
I usually need to do this at least once a week.

Thanks

Sometimes I want to use my wife's laptop on trips for my email messages. We
both use Outlook 2003.

Is it possible to configure Outlook so it has two profiles? I don't see her
messages and she doesn't see mine, unless it is deliberate. I seem to
remember that Outlook 2002 had that feature, but don't find it in 2003.
