installation >> new harddrive will not let me update at microsoft, freezes up
by dmlkdmVyZGE » Mon, 20 Aug 2007 04:40:01 GMT
I recently had a new hard drive installed in my 2003 HP computer. It works ok
but when I go to microsoft updates, it freezes. It wont even let me turn the
computer off. I fear that if I unplug it I will screw it up all the more.
I've been able to update mt old software downloads with the CD's and even the
AVG protection that came with the new hardware but I cant get the service
pack 2 other than the critical updates that I need. HELP!

This has nothing to do with outlook
It may have something to do with how or what win installation was installed
on your PC and whether the HP drivers were installed

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop with an intel duo core processor and I am
runnning windows media edition 2005 and office XP pro 2003. My "save as"
function keeps freezing up and if I wait about two minutes it unfreezes and I
can do one step and then it freezes again. Any ideas as to whether it is an
office or operating problem etc. and how to resolve it?

5. microsoft automatic update freezes
6. IE6 freezing when using Windows Update or Verifying on Microsoft.c
I've been experiencing this problem for the last few days or so and can't
find a solution no matter how hard I look.
Basically whenever I try to run Windows Update the IE window in which it's
running stops responding after a few seconds of scanning. IE also freezes up
whenever I use the verification tools on the Microsoft website e.g. on the
page to download the IE7 RC, when I click the 'Verify' button the same thing
happens - the IE window freezes and I have to ctrl-alt-del in order to force
it to close. I'm not sure if this is solely an IE issue because the same
thing happens when I downloaded the Windows Media Player 11 beta and clicked
the 'Verify' button on the installer.
These are the only instances in which IE has stopped responding for me, all
other websites work fine.
This is very frustrating because I can't update windows (short of using
auto-update, which I don't want to use) nor can I download anything off
Microsoft.com that requires verification.

8. Microsoft outlook will not let me use address book
I have microsoft outlook and have put all my addresses
from work on it. When I try to use the address book when
sending email using Outlook Express it says I have no
addresses in my book! How do I make this work?
It all works together at the office, but it was set up
before I got there. At home I am lost!
Please Help,
