Microsoft Office Outlook >> Distribution List - how exclude a person temporarily?

by VmFsZXJpZSBD » Fri, 21 Apr 2006 22:29:02 GMT

This is an issue that comes up peridically. We have an all staff
distribution list and want to send out an email announcing a surprise
birthday party. We'd like not to send it to the birthday girl, whose name is
in the distribution. Anyone know a way of saying send it to the distribution
list except her this one time?

Not of earth shattering importance, but if someone's figured it out...

There should be a "+" to the left of your distribution list when you have it
in the "to" field of the e-mail. You can expand your distribution list by
clicking on this "+" and deleting the receipent from this e-mail message.

Hope this helps!

Not in my version, maybe because we're using Outlook XP and exchange 5.5.
Too bad, but good to know when we finally upgrade there might be a solution!

Is there a way to send an email to a distribution list
minus one or two users in that distribution list? We just
migrated from Groupwise and we could do it there but
haven't found a way in Outlook 2000.

4. Can I make a distribution list from another person's contact list

I have access to this person's contact list, but for some reason, the name of
this list won't appear in the window to the right where I am to "select" the
members I'm adding to the new distribution list. Help!

5. Excluding members of a distribution list - Microsoft Office Outlook

6. Distribution List Members excluded

I need to save/export my entire contacts list - used to do this easily in
Outlook Express with the .wab files - all efforts in Outlook 2003 have failed
to date.

In Outlook 2003 -
When I export my contacts to a .pst file, individual contacts are properly
preserved and distribution list TITLES are saved. But the members in each
distribution list are excluded.

When I export my contacts to a .csv or .tsv file, individual contacts are
properly preserved but distribution list titles are not even saved -
everything about distribution lists is totally excluded.

Help database says I should be able to drag and drop items from Outlook 2003
into email. When I attempt to drag and drop distribution lists into email,
nothing translates. (Word is my editing program)

I have searched the help database and the MS datebase for a solution without
success.

It is critical that I find a way to backup my address book in its entirety,
including distribution lists.

thanks so much for your help!
