I have been forced to rebuild my Windows XP/Office 2003 configuration. My
Outlook backups have been faithfully preserved, but they are rejected as
invalid when I try to import them.

I tried to run the "scanpst.exe" program, but that also says they are
"invalid format".

Anybody know what to do?

The Outlook_backup.pst is about 1.3GB.

Don't import simply connect to it by File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

If it is located on a CD copy it to your harddisk first and remove the "Read
Only" file attribute.

This usually means you created the backups with a method that corrupted
them. Exactly how did you create them?

I have installed the Com-Add-In for savig the .pst datas long time ago.
With this, after shutting down outlook, the Outlook.pst file is saved 
automatically as a backup file on disk. It had been working perfect.

For a couple of weeks now, sometimes the backup file is not saved and I keep 
on receiving the message

'...Outlook backup cannot be copied: The process cannot get hold of the 
datas, since another process has blocked some datas'

What does that mean?

I am setting up PST backup utility of Outlook to backup three of my local 
PSTs to the network. I have pointed all of them to a mapped network drive at 
exactly the same folder.

The 1st PST was successfully backed up, however, the other 2 PSTs are having 
intermittent backup problems with this error:

Cannot copy file or folder

Cannot copy <pst filename>.pst: The path is too deep.
+++

Does anyone encountered this problem? Is this a PST Backup Utility known 
issue? How can I help this fixed?
