Microsoft Office Outlook >> Draft Saved in Inbox

Dear All,

I am using Outlook 8.5.5603.0 but get an error that is
reported in Outlook 97. Sometimes when I save a file prior
to sending it, it gets saved in the DRAFT folder and on
rare ocassions it gets saved to the Inbox. The only common
thing I can see is that the items saved in the Inbox have
a 'To' name included and always have an attachment, but
not all emails of this nature get saved in the Inbox
folder. I am confused! Can someone help me?

The Outlook options are set to save in DRAFT.

This is perfectly normal behavior. If you create a message with the File |
Send To | Mail Recipient command in Word or by right-clicking a file and
choosing Send To | Email, then save that message, that draft will save in
the Inbox. Drafts that you create wholly within Outlook, will save in
Drafts. It's a little quirk related to the Simple MAPI technique used to
create the messages with Send To: It doesn't know about the Drafts folder.

If you initiate the message from one of the other office applications,
such as Word or Excel, but way of clicking File | Send To | Mail Recipient...
then if you save the message before sending it the message will be saved
in the Inbix instead of Drafts.

When I go in and try to send a picture through windows explorer (find a 
picture, on the left side of windows explorer it says "e-mail this file) so 
when I do that and press save, the messages is saved so that editing is 
still an option, but it is saved in the inbox instead of the drafts. But, if 
I open up a new message through Outlook (clicking the new button in the 
upper left corner) and save it, the message will be saved in the drafts.

The "solution" (XCLN: Messages Not Saved to Drafts Folder" 
(MS Knowledge Base 247813)) merely states that MS 
Outlook's default is to save messages every 3 minutes to

247813 states, however, the problem is that messages ARE 
NOT being saved to the Drafts folder!  The "solution" to 
my reading seemingly ignores this and offers no "way 
around" or correction of the problem.  This sort of 
response in MS "Help" is so frustrating. It seems so 
patently obvious that the "solution" offered seems not 
even to address the stated problem. Am I missing something 
here?

My Outlook 2000 SR-1, by default, saves my messages to my 
INBOX folder!  Why, I have no idea.  How do I change this 
behaviour?

Sometimes when a message is saved it will appear in the Inbox instead of the 
Drafts folder. Eventhough the setting to save unsent items is set to drafts.  
I know that others have had this issue.  Any suggestions are causes for it?

All of a sudden, i am not able to save my messages in the draft folder. I 
have checked on tools>options>email>email options and still see the draft 
messages to be saved in the Draft folder. But when I save the email from File 
> Save or hit ctrl + S and close the drafted email and I dont see them in the 
draft folder or any folder. can you please help on this.
