I looked at a lot of Casio watches, I'd wanted an "Atomic" watch for some time. Most of the Casios are HUGE. That's OK if you're a 6 footer, but they can look a bit hoakey on us shorter folk. I found this watch on Ebay, paid 33 bucks, and was very pleased when I got it. I think it is a handsome watch. Yes, the buttons & sides are black plastic, but the overall look is quite nice I think. The stainless band is very nice, and was simple to remove links from. There is no second hand on the analog face, but it is very easy to toggle through the date display if you want a seconds display. Not having to reset it twice a year for daylight savings time is reason enough to buy it.
This watch is on the cheaper end of the 'Atomic' watches, and like most things, you get what you pay for. The watch itself is very nice, with good features and not a lot of crap you don't need. The atomic timekeeping seems to work very nicely but is more of a conversation piece than anything else. My only problem is the durability. The face scratches very easily. The stainless steel band is great, other than it where it attaches to the watch is plastic. If your rough on a watch (like me) this plastic piece will last anywhere from 1 day to a few months. I've gone through a couple of these watches already, and I doubt that I would buy another one.
Bought this watch in December 2007. Works great in Illinois where I live, but the plastic on the watch where the band pin attaches to the watch broke in July 2008. I returned it to Casio for repair. It's within the warranty period, but they will not honor the warranty. Casio considers the broken watch "physical damage," which is not covered under the warranty. I paid a little over $41.50 for the watch and the repair is $38.93. Not worth it for a watch that will break again. I am deeply disappointed in the mechanical design of the watch because Casio used plastic where the band connects to the watch. You will almost certainly stress that connection as you wear the watch. I have no recollection of every abusing the watch. The plastic will crack and break, and you'll have paid for a watch that you can't wear. Also, the watch band is difficult to adjust for size. The links are removeable, but the instructions that come with the watch give no guidance. The Casio web site is no help either. I found help on the web because some thoughtful person posted pictures of what to do. Unless you have a small jeweler's screwdriver, you won't be able to push out the pins that hold the links together. As I write this, the watch is not available. Be aware of these design flaws on other Casio watch models.
This is a fantastic watch. I own a dozen other watches, but seem to wear the Casio the most. Love the glow in the dark feature and its accuracy is nothing short of amazing. Light weight, durable and a fun watch that I can wear anywhere.
It took quite sometime for the product to be delivered, and when I tried to contact the seller (FAMOUS BRAND WATCHES), their 1-800 number does not take calls from Canada, even though they sell to Canadians. So I tried to contact them via email, which they did take quite a while (over a week) to reply. That made me wonder about the integrity of the seller and the quality of the product I was buying from them. Fortunately, Amazon has a policy that ensures your money back in case you are not satisfied with your purchase. Turned out that the seller eventually replied and I got my product. So here is a suggestion to the seller: Improve your customer services, so that will build trust between you and your customer, and most certainly increase your sales.
