that scientific terms and allowing UK and American spellings have also
extended the list just a little.

They're sitting right here on my machine :)

"Words" is a standard (but poor) dictionary that came from a SUN-OS/Solaris
based Unix machine about 10 years ago. Only 25,000 odd words.

"Web2" and "Web2a" are Websters (American biased), also from the same place
as above.

"YAWL" is a freely downloadable dictionary (Yet Another Word List) which
you should be able to Google for. It's a GNUish project.

I did the search across those 4, weeding out duplicates.
