Oric computers >> Electric duet replayer for Oric.

Yes, it's possible to play Apple II's Electric duet melodies on the Oric.
As a plus on the Oric they are replayed with three channels and hi-fi. Full
source code and descriptive manual is included in the distribution archive.
As a plus I've converted 28 melodies to the Oric in ready to execute files.

Enjoy.

Excellent work my friend.

BTW - just played "Wall Defence" for the first time. It is quite addictive!

Just wish I was a better game player - my reflexes are garbage! LOL

Try the GameBoy version - it's much easier.

I've also added probably the best 8bit Tetris (Tetris-8D). It features
smooth movement (in HIRES), color and B/W figures, fair scoring
system, high scores table and 15 levels of speed, as I soon recovered
it from a dusty old archive. It can be easily squized to 4K for the
minigame compo, but as I saw the arrogancy of the minigame community,
they will probably rant it.

Err.. while smooth movement in Tetris may look sexy to a programmer,
it is pure crap for the player. Smooth vertical drop *may* work, but
in the end it does not add to the game. Smooth horizontal movement
would be totally a pain in the *ss.

If your Tetris is significantly well done, for a "new" platform and
includes some unique elements (ok, smooth movement may be unique),
it could still score high, but it is a game most people have seen
and played to death by now.

Consider if there is something you can do different - mix genres!
Tetris + Snake, Tetris + Digger, Tetris + Pong etc. I remember some
PC implementation where you should build a Tetris tower to let a
guy who was trapped climb the tower and escape. Just some thoughts.

I remember that game very well. Don't know the name but it was made by
Scandinavien PC Systems (SPCS) I think.

Tetriller? I think it was programmed by some Russians, and SPCS
only bought a license and maybe translated the messages.

Actually I just tried it, and here are my comments:

Good:
- The game itself is quite nice to play, reacts well, colors are cool, and
it's probably the best tetris I've been playing on the oric.

Bad:
- The flicking of the falling bricks (at least on the emulator) is quite
tiresome for eyes :(
- The setup of the game is quite long, and most interface/screen display is
low to appear, so it's not really nice, that's a shame because it worth
waiting since the game is good. So a bit of optimisation in all that so it
appears fast would be welcom.
- "CAPS" message and "key clicks" looks very cheap :)
- An english version would be welcome !

I really think that a new release of the game would be nice to get if you
managed to correct these small things.
