1. installing hard drive from g4 powerbook to g4 ibook
I have a g4 ibook that works (better than my 1 gig g4 powerbook). It only has 128 megs ram, a 10 gig hard drive, the 1 gig g4 has a 80 gig hard drive 1 gig memory and a dvd rw. How hard is it to install each of these parts? How do I even get the powerbooks open?

The hard drive in my Mac G3 desktop began making unhealthy sounds, as though a bearing is going. Is there a way for me to "clone" or image this hard drive to a new hard drive? Or will I have to install the new hard drive, format, and reinstall the operating system and programs from scratch? For those of you who might think the wiser course would be to scrap the G3 altogether and move up to something newer, I feel a new hard drive would be a worthwhile fix because the rest of the computer is fine. It is mostly used for word processing, web surfing, and email, so in that respect it is still a useful machine. Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi All.. can anyone help? Thought I had better check this one out before trying it I have two macs both G4, one is a dual processor. the hard drive in the dual has the most up2date system and software + my tunes I need to swap the hard drive with the other G4 as Iam getting rid of the dual.. and want to keep all my music/setting/programs on the single G4 Is this just a simple plug and play senario??? I travel quite a bit and would like to keep my files on the internal drive, so I'd like some suggestions as to getting a larger-capacity internal hard drive. What is a good replacement drive?
