Microsoft .NET Framework >> Application Center Test - Local policy rights problem.

by GriffithsJ » Wed, 26 May 2004 21:02:24 GMT

Hi

When I run a test I get the error message:

"Could not start the test. Provider load failure (0x80041013)"

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=318849 appears to address the problem.
However...

Under "log on locally"

I have the \ACTUser with ticks in both the "Local Policy Setting" and the
"Effective Policy Setting"

Under "log on as a batch job"

I have the \ACTUser with a tick in the "Local policy setting" but it's
un-ticked in the "Effective policy setting".

If I understand correctly, the second column takes into account the Domain
policy settings. However, our Domain Admin chap can't find anything that's
overriding my local setting.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Griff

Sorted

I went into the dcomcfg and changed the ACTUser to run as the interactive
user.

You are still Lucky.

MS does not fix a similar error 0x80041012 'could not load provider' I
cannot use ACT anymore...
And they end up saying: "Your WMI is corrupt, we will fix this in future". I
can assure, it is not corrupt on my PC...

2. Using MS Application Center Test 1.0 To Test Mobile Web Forms

Has anyone successfully used MS ACT to test a mobile web form? We have a few
mobile web forms that users fill in data, and submit it. The problem is that
when you record the test, each post is to the page, but with a querystring
of __ufps=655445. This number changes every time, and therefore, ACT reports
errors on every request.

Going from page to page through links works just fine, but submitting the
form causes problems. Since trying to determine performance usually involves
entering data, this creates a problem. Any suggestions?

Are there other tools available to stress test mobile web forms? I have
looked around, but have found nothing that looks great.

Thanks ahead of time,

Joel

4. Application Center Test - test gives better results with more brow

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help me out, as I'm a bit puzzled by some test
results I'm seeing when using Application Center Test.

For a particular test, if I run it with 50 simultaneous browser connections,
the graph I get oscillates between up to around 400 requests per second, then
down to around 20, then back up to 400, etc, over a period of about 60
seconds.

If I run the same test again but with 1000 simultaneous browser connections,
the graph I get is pretty constant, and stays around 350 requests per second
for roughly the entire duration of the test.

Does anyone have an idea about why I'd see apparently better performance
results from the 1000 simultaneous browser connections test than from the 50
simultaneous connections test?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on my mystery.

6. Application Center Test Problems

hi,

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place(s) and I know this
has been asked in the past but I haven't managed to find a solution yet.

Basically when I try to record a test on the Visual Studio .NET 2003
guided tour Downhill Bikes example it doesn't record a script, I've also
tried this on other sites, have Microsoft released a fix for this yet?

many thanks

8. Problems with Application Center Test tool - 401 or access denied errors

I am trying to record user movement for creating a test
script with ACT. I am trying to test a Sharepoint Portal
Server 2003 site that uses Windows Authentication. I also
have a ISA Server acting as the firewall in my
enviroment. The test machine is inside the firewall.

Everytime I try to authenticate to the SPS 2003 site, I
receive either a 401 error (authentication error), access
is denied within SPS 2003, or page not found error.

I have enabled anonymous authentication with Windows
authentication, had Windows, basic, and anoymous enabled
within IIS. I have also enabled just basic and
anonymous. I have give my user account both admin and
full rights to the site via IIS. Nothing is working.

HELP please!!!!!!!!!!
