Have you tried regasm /tlb?

2. .NET Application requires Local Administrator Rights

Hi,

We have an inhouse developed VB.NET Windows application which runs
successfully only when the user is given a local administrator rights.
Without which, it fails to start. There isn't anything reported on the
event viewer. Giving the user full access to C:\ drive also doesn't do
the trick. Unfortunately, we do not have the code of this application
and hence cannot view what the application is trying to access. Note
that we have both .NET 1.1 and 2.0 running on the machine but the
app.config file has been configured to point to ver. 1.1 runtime.

We need to run the application without giving user local administor
rights. Can anyone suggest what might be the cause of this problem and
approach of troubleshooting it?

Thanks in advance
ec.

4. C# and administrator rights

    Hello,

I would like to create an application which would run with administrator
rights when launched by a simple user. Is know the RunAs() command in SHELL,
but the password is still needed.

Isn't there a way, knowing the administrator's password, to
programmaticaly launch my application with those rights ?

    Thank you.

8. double-clicking does not work with run as administrator in Vista

If i double-click a solution file (for Visual Studio 2005/2008) or a SQL file
(for SQL Server Management Studio) in Vista, I get an error message that the
file cannot be found. The appropriate application is opening - either Visual
Studio or Management Studio, it is just not finding the file being passed in
the command line by Vista. Odd since I double-clicked the file to initiate
Visual Studio.

I have to open Visual Studio or Management Studio and then browse to the
file I want to open. This is a real pain.

I have set up my shortcuts for Visual Studio to run as administrator but I
don't know if this has any relation to the problem I am having.

Is there a way to restore double-click functionality in Vista?

Thanks,

Dale
