This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

I have had many problems trying to get the Tk-804.027 tests to run on my
new perl 587 and Tk-804.027 install. Many dubious errors, the output is
below. Thinking that that may not be a big problem and not being able to
get help resolving it I thought I would continue on.

I have compiled, what I think is the latest version of Ptkdb and when I
try to use it get the Bus Error. Has anyone else seen this problem?

I have investigated this a little more and have found that the raise()
call is the culprit. A simple script using this method will cause a Bus
Error(core dumped).

Maybe there is a problem with my steps.

hi,
i've been having some problems installing tk on hp-ux11i with perl
5.8.6 and was hoping you could help me.
- ran perl Makefile.PL XFT=1 [no errors]
- ran make which failed [given in Appendix A]

Details of my build of perl are given in Appendix B

I've seen some messages which reference the fact that the message
about the magic number may be due to some mismatch between 32- and 64-
bit products but I'm not sure where to go from here (not a C expert).
I'd appreciate some guidance. I've gone through the readme for TK and
libz that came with this release and followed all the instructions but
to no joy.

Attached patch fixes a subtle but big bug in traceVdelete().  Without 
this patch it's possible for Trace.pm to auto-vivify a variable,
