Twenty-five years ago, on 11th January 1982, the first episode of the
BBC's seminal television series 'The Computer Programme' was broadcast.
This introduced the BBC Microcomputer and BBC BASIC, and changed the
course of home computing in the UK. Its influence is still felt today.

Happy - and exciting - days.
IMD was always very keen on screen Mode 4.

MODE 1 was always my favourite, a readable 40 columns by 32 lines of text
and 4 colours choosable from 8. Mode 4 was the same 320x256 resolution in
plain old 2 colours, but did have an extra 10K available for programs.
