I want to do this in renderman, but I don't get to curve the shader.

you have to use primitive variables with your geometry to get the
required result and how the primitive variables are used you can get
the example from "mtor" tutorials..........

because your required result need the implementation of primitive
variables i have made the code but it will only run for polyp
geometries if you need that so do hit me back

2. Procedural wood (texture)

I'm currently modelling a test scene for my 3D engine and am now
facing the problem, that I have a huge number of aged wooden
objects, that want to be textured, ideally with a shader.
However all my atempts on creating a wood shader only created a
look of plastic without getting the effect of aged wood.

I already got a few ideas on the problem, like that the specular
term is anisotropic (determined by the wood's fibers direction)
and similair.

Has somebody some hints for good looking procedural wood?

6. Fractal wood textures...

Hi

I've got a job coming up where I need to very realistically texture some
wooden handles for things like chisels etc for a company that actually does
the lathing of the handles.

So far in my work I've always got away with wrapping a wood texture around
things like this, but because the emphasis is on the wood now, it has to
look as though the wood grain is running all the way through, hence I
thought about using fractals. I've had a quick look at LW's wood fractal but
so far haven't produced anything any good. I've had a look and seen that
there are simbient and IFW textures available which I'll have to go through,
is there any other fractals that I'm missing?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks, Alex

Have a letter created in Word 2003 with pictures inserted. Now when we open
the document, the pictures disappear. Have run the repair program in Word
with no change. This problem started to occur after we ran an online system
windows update. Please help. I am considering loading Word 2000 because
have not had any problems in the past with that program.
