Does anyone have any knowledge of advanced data extraction vendors? My
company has been looking at the Kofax Indicius Product as well an
Captiva and Anydoc. I was interested in finding out what other
comapnies make software to compete with these?

IMPO, Kofax is the leader in this space - it's not just advanced capture and
extraction - it's also the other things that go along with it - distributed
capture, input queue management, exception processing, etc. - these guys
have some exceptional capabilities. Look into the "strength of the company"
issues, too - there are a few products out there (Distiller, for example)
that are owned by companies that are nothing more than flippers - Kofax will
be there for the long term.

Hi mbennet,

Not sure what exactly are you after, but maybe if you are after
linguistic analysis, this might interest you:

Look for Carabao DeepAnalyzer.

Hi,

We make advanced data extraction software, both from structured (paper
forms, CSV, other structured formats), and unstructured sources (free
flowing text, scanned documents).

Our solutions are targeted to the specific problem you're trying to
solve, that includes document classification, integration of rule-
based systems, auto-summarization, etc.

We perform in-house applied research, as well as integrate products
from other vendors.

The advantage we have over the bigger players is that we're not trying
to fit every problem into a product that we have sitting on the shelf
today, and we're able to integrate with existing infrastructure and
processes without changing everything. Our size gives us a kind of
agility that our customers appreciate a lot.

We've been in business in North America based out of Toronto for 5
years now, and the core team has been in place for over 10 years.

Best Regards,
Milind Joshi
