I have heard there is a software package out there that you can install on
your PC to program set, lines, etc.

What is it called an what is the latest version? Is a distributor the only
way you can buy it? Does anyone know an approximate cost?

Thanks,
Harry

You need a FastRAD and Norstar Remote Utilities (NRU). NRU 10 is the latest
version supporting CICS/MICS 2.0 through 6.1. Both the FastRAD and NRU can
be obtained from your dealer. The FastRAD MSRP is $425 and the NRU MSRP is
$750.

freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I just downloaded NRU 1, thanks. One thing I noticed though, I have been
given to understand that there is an offline programming tool that is
supposed to work in conjunction with Excel, I can't seem to find it. Is my
information bad?

No your info is not bad, there is a tool that you can use to offline program
your system. It is very laborious to set up and get working but once it does
its ok. (I use it to retrieve lost passwords). If you downloaded the
software user guides there should be a set of instructions.

Look in "C:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\ICSRT\Workbook" and you should be
able to find the excel spreadsheets. You need to open (allow macros) the one
that matches your system then configure it to your system size and start DN
info then click on "ICS menu > acquire ICS" and you are off to offline
programming heaven.

Just A quick word. You will probable need to change the configuration of the
excel ICS Template for it to work (Default is usually XC Variant) to your
system config (usually MICS NAT or CICS). Then if you use aquire start with
Start up and DN/DN length only so when you aquire the rest of the
information you have the correct start info.
Warning!! This function takes ALOT of system resources! Try to use it when
the site is closed. Also a FULL Acquisition will take a LLLLOOONNNGGGG Time
!!

I currently have a norstar 8x24 with a 12x0 and two 4 port co cards in
it. Total 16 lines 24 ext. I am upgrading to an MICS 0x32. I was
told that I could take the 2 port expansion card from my exising 8x24
and put it in the 0x32 giving me my first 8 lines for the system. My
question is, from everything I have learned that the expansion card
that I have is copper and can not go into the 0x32 which only takes
fiber???? but the company selling me the 0x32 is telling me that the
mics can take either fiber cards or copper cards, but not both
together, is that true or does this company not know what they are
selling?????? responses appreciated.

we need? We have standard POTS lines from Verizon and would like
