Everytime I run a .exe of any kind I get a window that says the file has
stopped working and will be closed by windows.
the most recent games i have tried to install are: Cars and Cruise Tycoon.
Both come up with the same problem. I have tried changing the DEP settings
and the compatibility settings, can anyone help? I want to play my games!!!

Good! The exception code 0xc0000005 (and the rest of the log entry, for
context) is what we need to proceed...

Will do some digging...

s it says below - you might need to double check your hardware, test the
RAM (do you know how to do this ? Google MEMTEST), try and get the latest
drivers for your hardware... I doubt it's malware/adware though...

http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewtopic.php?t=12388&view=next&sid=3569ec7ee7eb07488a337156c61fea50

"The error 0xC0000005 is generated by an illegal "memory access violation".
This can be caused by anything from faulty RAM, an incorrect/corrupt device
driver, poorly written/updated software and more commonly under Windows XP
Service pack 2, malware/adware installations."

can only suggest you keep looking on google for 0xC0000005 error that may
be arising in a similar context to yours. You could also report this to the
manufacturers of the games.

1. Explorer.exe stopped working and no longer works.

Hi, im having an issue here. one day my explorer.exe stopped working and
would not load. Even task manger wont launch. When I go to
Windows\exeplorer.exe and launch it manualy it starts but crashes
immedialty. Even after reboot it crashes upon startup. Ive checked the
regedit and the shell area says explorer.exe like it should. I dont know
whats going on but its fustrating so far im able to use the comandprompt
to do things like taskkill, msconfig, and regedit. Also when i click a
link after using google search, the listings all redirect me to a random
ad site. So im assuming all this could be the cause of a virus or
malware related issue. Only problem is that my virus scanner wont start
up, and ad-aware freezes during the scan. I cant boot in to safe mode
for a dumb reason too. My laptops blacklight went out so I have to use
an external monitor. I also have ubuntu dual booted, but the problem is
that my external montior display dosnet turn on untill vista is choosen
from the start up. When in the bios screen, and os selection screen I
cant see anything so safemode seems to be an issue to access.

Any help is greatly appricated. I dont want to reformat, and I problay
cant since my external montior dosent work in the bios menu anyways.
